After months of laziness, I finally got around to fixing this site. Looks like my web host decided to disallow the use of URLs in PHP include calls, which broke everything. Now that the site is back up, maybe we'll even make an effort to update it occassionally :).
Well I'm a terrible person. I didn't do a post for Adam's birthday (which was in March!!!) and he did such a nice post for me, with Chuck Norris in it and everything! So I thought I'd make up for it by making an anniversary post. Seven years ago on the night I met Adam I told him "Adam Morgan some day you'll be mine!" and who would'a thunk it...here we are. What would have happened if I had never had the guts to say that to him? Well thankfully we'll never know :) So Bubbies, I love you and happy anniversary!
Today not only is it Chuck Norris' birthday, it's also Amy's birthday! Happy birthday Amy and Chuck! Amy turns 23 today, which is much younger than 69 year old Chuck. Since Chuck didn't get me anything on my last birthday, I won't be getting anything for him either.....however, I already got Amy some Mac Hello Kitty makeup stuff, and in addition to this I'm going to take her to Tval downtown and let her buy whatever she wants :)
It's been ages since I've posted on this blog, but I guess it's better late than never. The picture you see on the left is my brand new 42" 1080p LCD television that I bought from Costco yesterday! Sure, I don't have cable yet or a PS3/blu-ray player, but the TV still looks pretty sweet in our living room! It's certainly a step up from the 13" TV's we have been using up until now. I can't wait to get off work and enjoy some quality time with my new toy!
Speaking of work, today is my first day at my new job at Compusult. After a 6 week contract with Bluedrop, I jumped ship and started a full time position in Mount Pearl. So far, nothing has really happened....I was given a tour and a cubicle, with no indication of what I should be doing, but I'm sure things will pick up. Dreaming of my unnecessarily large television will get me through the day :P
Today is Adam's 24th birthday! I guess that means he's finally a big boy...or not. There's no image with this post because I don't have the Gimp installed yet...and it's supposed to be Adam's turn to post but I think on a special day like today I can break the rules. So far he's gotten a wok, a small frying pan and spatula (for McMuffins), a game for Wii and some Subway money. Sounds like a good haul to me! Love you.
Today is Christopher Guest's 60th birthday! I thought I'd post a picture of him from one of my favorite films, "Best in Show", because I think Harlan Pepper is the most touching character ever. This man is such a dynamic actor, writer, producer and composer and I hope he continues to make great (and hilarious) films. Yesterday was JuOn's birthday, for the 24th time as she says, and Adam and I both want to wish her a Happy B-day too!
Wow. I just saw this online and on the news at the same time. Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment this afternoon, and drugs were apparently involved. This wasn't something either Adam or I saw coming from him. It seems that everyone in Hollywood is on drugs these days. It is also rumored that one of the Olsens may have been present. This whole thing is ridiculous. Our condolences to Michelle Williams and their young daughter.
It's finally time for me to bite the bullet and make the post that removes that lovely image of Scarlett Johansson from the top of the page. At least that's my excuse for not blogging for several months.
Today Amy and I went to see Cloverfield, a movie that we've been anticipating for a while (mostly because of the J.J. Abrams connection). It was about a monster attack on New York City, and it was shot entirely from the perspective of a single group of people with a handheld video camera. It was an amazing movie, but while the way it was filmed was completely necessary for the concept of the movie to work, it also ruined it for me.
I don't have a strong stomach when it comes to going on rides at the fair, and seeing Cloverfield was like being on one of those rides for an hour and a half. The camera was constantly moving, shaking, spinning, lights flashing...I was nauseous before it was half over. I had no choice but to look away for huge portions of the film to avoid being sick, although what I did see I liked. Maybe when it comes out on DVD I'll enjoy it more, because I won't be in a completely dark room while I'm watching it and I can take vomit breaks when I please.
The next movie I'm excited about is the new Rambo. It's directed by Sly himself, so you know it's gotta be good ;)
I know...I'm the best girlfriend ever. Adam LOVES Scarlett Johansson and since today is her birthday I thought I'd make a little post. It's a little bit of a boobie shot...but not too much :). She turns 23 today! Don't we know someone else who's 23...hmm...?
I finally uploaded the pictures Amy and I took over a month ago when we went camping in Rocky Harbour. Actually, the campgrounds in Rocky Harbour were full, so we camped in Norris Point...and the majority of the pictures we took were at the beach in Western Brook and at the Tablelands, so maybe naming the album "Rocky Harbour 2" is a bit misleading. In any case, click here to view the new pics.
